I wanted to tell a story, tongue-in-cheek, in a way that highlights the reality of the constant surveillance that we are all subject to, even without our knowledge or consent. There are too many cases where people have been profiled, identified incorrectly, and especially now with AI Facial Recognition, this will continue to be a problem.
I have recently been thinking a lot about surveillance and privacy and the tug-of-war struggle between these two concepts. What can we do? At times it feels like almost nothing. If feels like most of us have given up certain rights to privacy without agreeing to it. There was no Opt-In choice for us, it was thrust upon us. That reality is disturbing to me. With that in mind, I wanted my story to show how easily people ARE surveilled, and with no checks in place, innocent people can be the subject of investigations and accused of things that they were never a part of.
